Lejos de la ciudad, en el corazón de las montañas de Jayuya, Rosaura encontró su lugar de pertenencia, sus narrativas gráficas, donde los diferentes aspectos de su identidad no necesariamente se concentran en un monolito, sino que se alojan juntos, en toda su complejidad, bajo la misma pincelada de acuarela. La organización de los colectivos boricuas de arte secuencial, las condiciones visibles de su producción cultural dentro de la isla y la estética de su arte representan las luchas locales por la justicia de género, racial y climática a través de diferentes prácticas y plataformas. Cada verano llega la Temporada de huracanes, de nosotros depende cómo convivimos con nuestras fuerzas naturales.

Out-of-the-way in the heart of the mountains in Jayuya, Rosaura found a place of belonging, her graphic narratives, where the different aspects of her identity do not necessarily stick into a monolithic whole but are housed together, in all their complexity, under the same brush stroke. The organization of Boricua comic art collectives, the visible conditions of their cultural production inside the island, and the aesthetics of their sequential art represents the local struggles for gender, racial and climate justice across different practices and platforms. Every summer la Temporada (de huracanes) comes around, it depends on us how we coexist with our natural forces.

​Rosaura Rodríguez (1989) es artista y educadora. Trabaja haciendo cómics e ilustraciones donde se explora la vida social cotidiana puertorriqueña en la ciudad y en el campo. Muchas de sus obras son creadas con materiales y pigmentos naturales colectados y procesados por ella. Co-dirige el proyecto educativo Camp Tabonuco en Jayuya, Puerto Rico donde ofrece talleres de creación artística a todas las edades, con un enfoque sensorial y de inclusión a personas neurodivergentes. Disfruta compartir y hacer arte con plantas, tierra, animales y personas. Todos los días juega con su hija en la finca y alimentan a las gallinas.

Rosaura Rodríguez (1989) is an artist and educator. She works making comics and illustrations exploring puertorican social daily life in the city and the countryside. Many of her pieces are created with natural materials and pigments collected and processed by her. She is co-director of Camp Tabonuco in Jayuya, Puerto Rico where she offers workshops on artistic creation for all ages, with a focus on sensory integration and inclusion of neurodivergent people. She enjoys sharing and making art with plants, the earth, animals and people. Everyday she plays with her toddler on the farm and they feed the chickens.
